Swan Lake Park – December

December 31, 2024 0 487

It wouldn’t be December without a photograph of a robin. There were a lot of birds on all the lakes. The Canada Geese have returned after not being seen for a month or so.

My first ever sighting of a Northern Shoveler. There were three or four birds on the far side of the lake. Hopefully they will be a bit closer next time for a better photo.

All photographs were taken in and around Swan Valley Lake Park during the month of December. The park is a small nature reserve in the Blackwater Valley on the outskirts of Sandhurst. There is a huge variety of bird and insect life and if you are lucky you may even see an occassional deer or fox.
